Even if you found something really brilliant, once you get used to it (know every aspect of it and all the systems it works in), the thing doesn't look cool as it did before. It seems that the same thing happens to Facebook, which means Facebook won't be popular and prevalent 20 years from now. There are three cues which confirm that Facebook won't keep its pace until 2035; many people are already leaving Facebook in some countries, there are many increasing criticisms of Facebook, and people are worried about the social embarrassment.

To begin with, in some countries, many people are already leaving Facebook. I think this is a serious crisis for Facebook because this leaving happens in the whole country basis, not just in few people. According to the statistics from Quintly and Socialbakers, Facebook users in Ireland are rapidly decreasing from its peak of 2.3 million on Christmas in 2012 to 2.2 million in the following year. It turned out that more than 29,000 users around the age of 25 to 34 had left Facebook for many reasons. Also, in the statistics of Facebook users in 2013, it seems to have lost 10 million visitors in the US and had no growth in monthly visitors in the UK over the past year.

Second, there are many increasing criticisms of Facebook. Believe or not, Facebook has received criticism on a wide range of issues. Among those, the most serious problem is privacy concerns. By the account of EFF (Electronic Frontier Foundation), there are many information leakage problems by 'connections' and 'instant personalization'. By these two programs, anyone can get access to information saved in Facebook profile, even if it is not intended to be public. Through 'connections', every time you click 'like buttons' of a product either on Facebook or on external websites, your relationships and identities can be revealed on the list of people who clicked 'like buttons'. Moreover, 'instant personalization' shares Facebook information with its affiliated sites when the information seems to be public. Even though it is not public, your information can be delivered indirectly to the other websites through your friends who allowed their information to be public.
