[이 한국어 통역 되나요?💬] EP.07: HOW MANY WAYS CAN YOU SAY “서운해”?

조인어스코리아 2026. 10. 8. 18:30

Hello JK Korean learners! 👋

As we celebrate Hangul Day (October 9), we’re taking a moment to appreciate the Korean writing system that makes it possible to express so many subtle feelings in Korean. 🇰🇷✍️

And speaking of subtle feelings… have you ever wanted to express that you feel a little hurt or disappointed in Korean, but weren’t sure which expression to use? 🤔

In this episode of 「이 한국어 통역 되나요?」, we’re taking a closer look at different Korean expressions for “서운해” and the subtle differences between them. 💬

You might already know 서운해, but did you know Koreans can also say:
👉 섭섭해 — when you feel hurt or disappointed, especially by someone close
👉 아쉬워 — when something doesn’t happen as you hoped
👉 마음이 좀 그래 — a softer, more indirect way to express your feelings
👉 서운한 게 있어 — when you want to bring up something that hurt your feelings

Although these expressions can have similar meanings, they aren’t always interchangeable. Their nuance can change depending on the situation and what you want to express. 👀

So, when you want to say “I feel a little hurt” in Korean, don’t just look for one direct translation. Sometimes, understanding the feeling and context behind an expression makes all the difference. 🔎

This Hangul Day, why not celebrate by discovering the many ways Korean can express a feeling? ✨

Ready to understand Korean beyond translation? 🚀
