Hello, my name is Yuna, and this is my fifth article about museums. I’d like you to know The National Gallery in England. The National Gallery shows one of the finest and almost all collections of Western European painting. The National Gallery’s collection tells the history of painting in the Western European tradition, from the Middle Ages to the early 20th century. It includes many famous works as Botticelli’s Venus and Mars, Titan’s Bacchus and Ariadne, Caravaggio’s Supper at Emmaus, Monet’s The Water-Lily Pond, and Van Gogh’s Sunflowers. Warning: photo is not allowed in this museum.

 

Admission to the Gallery is free of charge.

           The Gallery was found in 1824, but it did not have its place today. The site in Trafalgar Square was chosen for its most important location, accessible to both the rich of West London and the poorer communities of the East End. The building has been widened over the years, in 1991 with the opening of the Sainsbury Wing most noticed. The Gallery continues to ensure that the widest possible public can enjoy the paintings.

 

You will find information about courses, workshops, speech, and other events for adults, and booking is what I would do. Also, The National Gallery has plenty of free events which doesn’t require booking, including guided tours, lunchtime or short talks, and live music. After my visit to Europe, the paintings and sculptures are circling in my head. From the paintings, I liked The Water-Lily Pond expressing its brightness like springtime, and Sunflowers because it showed happiness from the color yellow. Someday, I hope you can visit the amazing museum!
