Today's topic is Dongji(Winter solstice; 冬至) and what Korean do in Dongji.

 

🌓 This year DongJi is Dec. 22th, the longest night and shortest day of the year.

The ancient people held a festival and held a rite for the sun god,

thinking that this was the day the sun revived from death.

 

They also had Patjuk for chasing bad ghosts, wishing for good health and long life,

and replenishing your energy with nutritious red beans.

오늘의 주제는 동지(冬至)와 한국인이 동지에서 하는 일입니다.

 

🌓 올해 동지는 12월 22일로 1년 중 밤이 가장 길고 낮이 짧습니다.

고대 사람들은 이 날이 태양이 죽음에서 부활한 날이라고 생각하고

축제를 열고 태양신을 위한 제사를 지냈습니다.

 

🥣 팥죽은 나쁜 귀신을 쫓고, 건강과 장수를 기원하며,

먹을 것이 부족한 시기에 영양이 풍부한 팥으로 기운을 보충한다는 뜻입니다.
