[보도자료] 조인어스코리아, 글로벌 ‘지식인’ 플랫폼 통해 민간외교 확대 추진

국내 최초의 다국어 & 다문화 지식교류 커뮤니티를 운영하는 IT NGO 단체 조인어스코리아에서 오는 7월 17일부터 ‘글로벌 다국어 지식교류 프로젝트’를 진행한다. 

서울시, 한국관광공사, 한국방문위원회, 해외문화홍보원이 함께 하는 이번 ’글로벌 다국어 지식교류 프로젝트’는 각 나라의 외국인이 한국에 대해 궁금해 하는 개인별 외국인의 질문에 해당 외국어로 답변하는 온라인 언어별 재능활동가를 모집, 국가간 민간외교의 활성화를 위해 진행된다. 외국인의 질문은 국내 관광을 비롯해 의료, 생활, 문화, 교육 등 생활 전반의 다양한 분야에 대해 1:1 지식 답변을 하게 된다.

이 프로젝트에 참여하는 소위 ‘국경 없는 언어문화 지식교류 활동가’들에게는 활동에 따라 안전행정부 1365 나눔포털을 통해 봉사시간이 인정되며, 우수한 활동을 펼친 봉사자에게는 표창이 주어진다. 

모집 대상 언어는 영중일을 비롯해 소외권 언어를 포함한 29개 언어로, 언어별 지식교류 활동가 자격은 한국어를 포함해 외국어가 가능한 내외국인이며, 이들 언어재능활동가들과 함께 답변의 수준을 높일 수 있는 노무, 법무, 의료 분야의 전문가들은 외국어 능력 상관없이 지원 가능하다.

[PRESS RELEASE] JOINUS KOREA AIMING TO EXPAND CITIZEN DIPLOMACY THROUGH GLOBAL INTELLECTUAL PLATFORM

JOINUS KOREA, an IT Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) running the first multilingual, multicultural knowledge exchange community website in South Korea, is carrying out ‘Global Multilingual Knowledge Exchange Project’ from forthcoming July 17th. 

The project, sponsored by the Seoul City, Korea Tourism Organization(KTO), Visit Korea Committee(VKC) and the Korean Culture and Information Service(KOCIS), is to invigorate citizen diplomacy among nations by recruiting outreach workers who are going to give the answers in corresponding languages to the questions about South Korea asked by foreigners. The questions are to be replied one to one, ranging over a number of the areas including sightseeing, medical treatment, culture, education, and etc. 

For the so-called ‘borderless linguistic cultural knowledge-interchange activists’, which means the volunteers participating in the project, the time spent doing the service will be appreciated by the 1365 web portal site of the Ministry of Security and Public Administration. In addition, the ones with outstanding works will win official commendation. 

There are 29 languages wanted including English, Chinese, Japanese and so on. Anyone, Korean or foreigner, who has a command of any of the languages in demand obtains qualification for application. The experts on labor, judicial affairs or medical field who can improve the quality of the answers with the activists are qualified as well regardless of their language abilities.
