The class went on as we expected and I thought it is important to give a clear everything where student does not understand so I tried to go slowly and focused on each pronunciations. On first day, I gave mini test and quiz solution to student to check her level.

Master Korean: Have a one track mind to succeed!

"서강한국어 87p, 서로를 알아가고 앞으로의 수업방향을 계획했습니다. 기대가 많이 되었고 앞으로 잘 할 수 있겠다는 서로에 대한 믿음이 생겼다. 매주 정한 양의 단어를 시험보았습니다. Talk to me in Korean

K-pop: Lyrics excerpted from BTS`s song

Some people say that you must learn new language when you are younger because it will be much easier to learn and for long-lasting memories, but what do you do when you have already matured? You cannot concentrate like before and keep forgetting your new words? We all know that struggle to learn languages. One important tip to studying is to find your own style. There are many K-pop fans and K-drama lovers who learned Korean from using their hobby! So we prepared some explanation of Korean grammar in BTS`s "Spring day" song. BTS is a famous Korean K-pop boy band with a seven members whom have been actively performing since 2013, and the name meaning stand for "Behind the scene" in English and "Bangtan boys or Bangtan Sonyeondan" in Korean. Currently, they have enormous huge fanclub and fans, and considered the "world`s biggest boy band" according to wikipedia.

Let`s see BTS`s "Spring Day" lyrics, and study together with JOINUS KOREA.

[Part II] Health Problem Vocabulary in Korean

There will be a lot of places you might have come to talk about health topic in various kind of situations. For example, if you are travelling around the country and does not know where to go but just need some painkiller or medicine, you can describe your problem to pharmacist. The word pharmacy in Korean is "약국". In South Korea, the drugstores usually close around 6-7pm and there is some 24 hour stores. So make sure to visit before it closes. Although, do not worry about that! These days the convenience stores are selling painkiller, patches and disinfectants. Also, the convenience stores are starting to have delivery services.

We hope  you will be always happy and healthy. Before you go to hospital or anything related to South Korea. Ask on our website www.joinusworld.org ! We will try to answer as soon as possible to you in your own language.

[Part I] Health Problem Vocabulary in Korean

Do you know how to express your pain 😷🤒 in Korean? What do you do when you get sick 🤧 in South Korea? As we know, the struggle of living in another country and you have no idea what to do. At that time, unless you have someone Native or friends who know that language, you might face some difficulties to find good doctor or hospital. For my case, I went to receive my alien card and they did not approved my X-ray which is mandatory you need to give. That X-ray I took in university big hospital which costed around 80,000 won  but they did not accept it because the hospital was not in list of approved places. The why I paid a quite big amount is also because I was a new and did not know I need to apply for the National insurance. I had to ask from people what should I do and they told me to go to the nearest 보건소 hospital which only costed 5000~6000 won get X-ray result. Everything happened because I do know the rule or language barrier. I learned my lesson and finally for my alien registration card.

I hope everyone prevent unnecessary expenses in the future with help of our vocabulary posters. Before you go always confirm. You ask your questions related to South Korea on our website www.joinusworld.org

Here are the general and common vocabularies that you might find it helpful!
